Popular Italian Mountain Resort Named Most Affordable Destination to Ski in Europe
Italy has outstripped Bulgaria as Europe’s most budget-friendly ski destination.
For the first time since 2019, Italy’s Bardonecchia has unseated Bulgaria’s Borovets from its position as the most affordable ski resort in Europe.
The study conducted by British tour operators Post Office Travel Money and Crystal Ski Holidays named Italy’s Bardonecchia as the best value-for-money destination with the lowest price increase of 1.4 percent over the previous year. Borovets in southwest Bulgaria came in second with a price rise of 8.2 percent, while Bansko, in the same region, ranked sixth with an 18.1 percent increase.
The broad-scope study examined the costs of ski passes, equipment rental, lessons, and food & beverage on the slopes in 36 cities across Europe.
